One thing that really bothers me about it is that if you watch this and other videos of WM 6.5 is just how slow things are. So once the screen is unlocked it’s like a major delay happens where the phone now needs to boot Windows 95.
As hard as MS tries with Windows Mobile they won’t ever be able to catch up the competitions ingenuity.
Said,@Paul Foty: I concur. They have a win with PE 3.0 [win7] and think they should maybe capitalize on that. Or maybe what they have in the Zune software. I think that is where Apple is ahead of the game, they have a modular base OS that can then have necessary modules added for functionality.

Said,That would be an amazing cell phone operating system, Windows PE. It would be so fast and secure that it would probably rock all linux based versions. They are doing a good thing mimicking the Zune interface but a pretty skin is just not enough when it comes to a cell phone. The iPhone is so simple and fast that it’s naturally in the lead right now but that could change when it comes to the Palm Pre.

First, the slider is on the top of the screen so after you unlock you have to move your hand to see the screen.
Second, the sliders look too small and close together to use your thumb when unlocking the phone with one hand. Be honest, how many times are both your hands free so you can use your index finger to look at your phone?
Have they even used an iPhone? You can see the last notifications on the iPhone without unlocking it.
I will admit the iPhone is missing some minor things, but at least they think through the stuff that is there.
One nice thing about the Windows Mobile phone is that it will probably be WAY CHEAPER, so you won’t feel as bad throwing it away.
