Microsoft apparently really loves Windows XP as they have decided to allow for people to downgrade from Windows 7 to it if they so choose.  When it comes to malware and security Windows XP is the operating system that single-handedly gives malware a hold on the computing world.

“Microsoft and its PC partners are going to allow Windows 7 users to downgrade not just to Windows Vista, but also to Windows XP, Microsoft officials are confirming.” – ZDNet

If Microsoft really wanted to reduce the impact of malware in the world they would only let people downgrade to at the most Windows Vista (which no one would do).  Windows 7 is good enough for users to at least be satisfied with it and not crave the competition.

Microsoft is like a drug dealer that keeps stringing users along with XP.  Those of us that are very computer savvy can handle it because we know how to keep from becoming a victim to it’s failings but the same can’t be said of the average consumer.
