Intel Cash Register

One of the new features of Windows 7 is it’s touchscreen capabilities.  Previously XP and Vista were more or less patched to allow for using a touchscreen which worked but was not the best possible solution.  Without a manufactures disk that included all of the drivers for the computer it was a difficult task to get the machine working correctly.  Now with Windows 7 release approaching we should start to see manufactures more willing to produce touch enabled devices as it means less work for them on the back end of things.

One such device that is in the design phase and may not actually be released is the  Intelligent Cash Register from Intel and Frog Design.  The device itself is pretty futuristic as is expected with it’s current usage model.  Whether or not devices like this will be running Windows 7 remains to be seen but it is an interesting opportunity for Microsoft.
