One of the things that has made Ubuntu so popular is that a user does not need to have a heavy reliance upon the command line to be able to accomplish many tasks.  They have worked hard to make it more friendly to the average computer user and not just Geeks.  But even for newbies to Linux there are times when using the command line interface (CLI) is really useful and even necessary.

Tux Radar is looking out for those of us that are newbies or just not 100% comfortable with the Linux CLI and have posted an excellent article to get you started.  Most of the commands are pretty basic but will help to get you more comfortable using the CLI and probably get you using it more than you imagined.
