Microsoft has taken a lot of heat over the less than secure UAC implementation in Windows 7.  Many steps forward were made with Windows Vista regarding security but it looks like Microsoft is working hard with Windows 7 to undo the biggest one, User Account Control (UAC).

A month ago it was announced by Long Zheng and Rafael Ravera that there was a very serious hole in UAC and that it was being ignored by Microsoft.  The Windows Engineering team then announced on their blog that they were not going to resolve the issues and that UAC was not their only security measure.

Now there is yet another issue that is coming out with UAC code injection that is possible which basically allows any program to do anything they want.  If an application would like to delete all of the Windows System 32 directory, it can.  This vulnerability is more than a little severe it is actually a huge gaping hole in the operating system that every script kiddie wanna-be-hacker is going to take advantage of.

I am not going to bore you to death by explaining it but I strongly encourage you to watch THIS video and increase your UAC security level to maximum if you are using the Windows 7 beta.  Even if you are not a hardcore geek these videos are still interesting to watch and is a good example of someone caring enough to take the time to educate others. - (Thanks Ron for sending this in.)
