product-front-15

Apple is typically known as “trendy” and for people that are not power users of computers.  That reputation is starting to change with the help of products like the iPhone and the MacBook Pro.  As these products bring us the features we desire they are becoming less trendy and more cutting edge.

One of the newest things coming from Apple is the MacBook Pro with an 8 hour battery life.  While many laptops get good battery life 8 hours is simply amazing.  The newest MacBook Pro announced this year at Mac World starts at $1,999.00.

The one thing however that critics automatically pickup on is that the battery is not removable.  When it was announced I admit it was the first thing that I didn’t like.  However today after reading Robbin Harris’s point of view at ZDNet I think I agree with Apple on this one.  How frequently do we as laptop users actually remove the batteries in our computers?  In 10 months of owning my current laptop I have never removed the battery.

All things said and done 8 hours of battery life is hard to argue with and I am sure that Apple will get additional converts as a result.
