Free Copy Of Windows 7!

Microsoft frequently throws a party and training session at the same time to gain support for their products but I think this next one is just awesome. They are calling it “the NEW efficiency” but basically it is a information session for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Exchange Server 2010. The best part about this is that attendees will walk away with a FREE copy of Windows 7! These sessions even though sometimes dry, are a great way to escape from work for the day and hang out with your peers.

And who are we to argue with a free copy of Windows 7?

As long as it’s not like the ‘free’ copy of Vista Ultimate we received a few years ago. Turned out to be a gimped RTM that wouldn’t update past SP1.

I have a free copy of Vista Ultimate that I got from one of these events as well but I never had any problems updating it. I ended up installing it on a relatives computer to replace their pirated copy of Vista. Maybe they were just trying to mess with you? :)

I think you have that confused. At heroes happen here they gave away 32bit vista ultimate (which was dumb but the key worked for 64 bit) and they gave away server 2008 which would only get updates for one year.

Anyways I shall add this to my technet collection “keys” for windows 7 ;p

Maybe it has to do with the DVD that came in my pack, when installed it reports back a 5xxx (pre-RTM) build number and wouldn’t take SP1. No matter though, between this and the other chances at a free key I”ll be stocked up on Win7 for couple of years. :)
