AndroidIt looks like Android is facing a pretty serious browser vulnerability that was reported at the ShmooCon hacker conference this last weekend.  The vulnerability is so severe that many security experts are even saying that Google Android users should not use the Internet browser.

If the browser is compromised by a hacker they can view all of the stored credentials and user information.  This includes encrypted credentials and sessions are viewable.  The vulnerability itself is within the multimedia subsystem code contributed by PacketVideo.

A fix has been available since February 7th but due to the way that the Android receives it’s updates most users remain vulnerable and could be so until the next major update from Google.  If you are someone that feels comfortable manually updating your phone you can do so from the official Google repository.
